Is Vaping Good for Athletes?

Is Vaping Good for Athletes

I’m sure you have already heard of vaping.

Vape is a smoking device that heats a liquid that turns into vapor (hence the name). They contain a cartridge or a tank with the liquid, a battery so you can charge them and an atomizer than heats the liquid. The person who uses it inhales the vapor, and not smoke like those who smoke traditional cigarettes do. It also contains fewer harmful chemicals.

The liquid is called e-liquid, e-juice or vape juice and it comes in so many different flavors, which is one of the reasons people love vaping so much. They smell so good, especially fruity and dessert flavors, like strawberry, watermelon, or chocolate. Also, new flavors are added all the time so there’s always something new to try!
They are eco-friendly – they are reusable so you don’t leave a pile of cigarette butts after you.
The third reason for the fact that vaping is so popular is that it’s cheaper than smoking “analog“ cigarettes – which means they are great not only to our Mother Earth but to your wallet, too.

If you are an athlete, you may be worried if you can use vapes and if they will reduce your athletic performance. For that reason, it’s important to do your own research: here are some things to consider.

Athletes vape

The first thing I found out that surprised me is that many famous athletes vape. Just to name a few: Paul Pogba, French football player, David de Gea, Manchester United goalkeeper and Derrick Morgan, American football player. There are many more.

Morgan is also a huge advocate of the benefits of medical marijuana and he’s using CBD oil in his vape. According to him, it helps with preventing CTE (Chronic traumatic encephalopathy), a disease many football players suffer from.

Vapes are a healthier alternative to cigarettes

According to PHE (Public Health of Englands), vapes are 95% safer than traditional cigarettes. There are vapes with a very low level of nicotine, as well as the ones that are nicotine-free: they are probably the best option for athletes.

Vaping is not completely harmless, but it’s much less harmful than smoking traditional cigarettes.

Tobacco in traditional cigarettes causes cough, shortness of breath, and lowers your body’s strength and flexibility. It also makes your body heal slower.

For that reason, e-cigarettes are a safer choice. They contain nicotine as well, but they do not contain tobacco and so many other chemicals that you can find in traditional cigarettes and that ruin your health.

If you smoke, I would recommend you to start vaping instead: your lung capacity and your energy will improve a lot, as well as your stamina. Your muscle recovery will also become much faster. As soon as you stop smoking, your lungs and overall health will begin to improve.

The results are the best when you keep drinking water and staying hydrated!

Health benefits are especially prominent if you use CBD oils: they reduce pain, inflammation, and anxiety. They can also boost your mood and help you with weight control. Many athletes who use them reported they also have better focus. If you live in a place where medical marijuana is legalized, this may be the best choice.

Just be careful not to vape too much, as the overuse of vapes can cause the body to heal slower or interfere with your ability to reap the benefits of your workouts. It can also cause throat irritation.

Moderation is the key.

Tobacco and playing sports is a no go. On the other hand, if you vape in moderation, e-cigarettes and athletes are a great match!
