Power 105.1The Breakfast Club interviews Damon Dash.
If you don’t already know, Damon Dash was the Co-Founder of Roc-A-Fella records, a record company most prominently known for discovering two of the most legendary hip-hop artists of our generation: Jay-Z and Kanye West. Dash, along with Jay-Z, went on to sell Roc-A-Fella Records to Def Jam in 2005.
The seeming to be dynamic duo split ways leaving that relationship to wither and cause much speculation to whether there was “beef” between the two. During the split, a rising emcee by the name of Kanye West had just been discovered by Dash and ultimately decided to stick it out with Jay-Z instead. Dash went on to do a plethora of other things in his career. He has executive produced and co-starred in several films throughout the 2000’s and is currently promoting a film he directed, ‘Loisaidas’. Recently, West reached out to Dash to present his Visionary Award to him at the BET Honors.
Most people were shocked and surprised to see Dash presenting the award knowing that they may not have been on good terms after the splitting of Roc-A-Fella, but on a separate interview at the Breakfast Club, West admitted to being disloyal to Dash and reached out to make amends. Aside from being a successful businessman and entrepreneur, Damon Dash is known for being animated and painfully honest when handling his clients and employees. During this interview, Dash was asked to speak about the relationship between him and Jay-Z.
Frustrated, tension gets a little thick and things start to heat up between Dash and the Breakfast Club. Check out this video below, and see what Dame Dash had to say.
