VH1 Divas 2012: Too Much Adam Lambert Not Enough Divas

VH1 aired its 2012 Diva Awards show and host Adam Lambert, DJ Havana Brown and Kelly Clarkson started the show off with a flurry.

Ciara payed tribute to the great Michael Jackson and she showed us why she is still one of the best dancers in the game. As CiCi performed her new single “Got Me Good,” it was clear to see that she is making a serious attempt at a comeback.

The first half of Tonight’s show honored the legendary “Queen of the Disco” Donna Summer and Kelli Rowland, Keri Hilson and Adam Lambert gave an amazing tribute. Keri Hilson’s new age version of Donna’s “Hard For The Money” sent the crowd to a frenzy, while Adam’s cover of “Hot Stuff” showed the world how much of a diva he really is.

One of the most interesting performances of the night was Bootsy Collins as he took the Dance Party to the next level with his brand of funk.

Adam Lambert’s Madonna tribute was one of the biggest disappointments of the night and by the end of the show – I was done with this diva. I thought this was the Diva Awards, not the Adam Lambert Show.

The Whitney Houston tribute performed by Ledisi, Jordin Sparks and Melanie Fiona was the highlight of the night as Pitbull closed the 2012 Diva Awards with a high energy performance.
