Yesterday was Media Day for the Desoto SolJazz Festival which included three panels: Desoto City Planning Officials, SolJazz Sponsors & Partners and SoulJazz Talent.
The Desoto City Planning talked about the signifigance of putting together this ten day festival and how they wanted to make Desoto the destination city for entertainment in the DFW area. On the Sponsor side, everyone seemed to be pretty excited being one of the first to support an event of the magnitude that may bring attention and cash flow to the city of Desoto and surrounding communities.
Representing the SolJazz Talent was DJ Spinderella of Salt-N-Pepa who’s motivation to be a part of the Desoto SolJazz Festival was due to her mother passing of diabetes a few years ago.
Since then, she has been working with the American Diabetes Association who kicked off the SolJazz Festival events with a Walk for Diabetes Prevention at Zeiger Park in Desoto, TX.
