10 Interesting Facts About Eminem’s Recovery

Recovery1After Relapse, Eminem began writing music for what would be called Relapse 2. However, when he realized that the content in her new music was sonically different from Relapse, he decided to scrap the sequel all together and come up with an original album. That album was Recovery and it was simply an apology album for the abysmal Relapse. To celebrate Eminem’s Marshall Mathers LP 2, we here at So So Active bring you the final Ten Facts article on Recovery.


• Released in 2010, many critics applauded the album for Eminem’s rapping but criticized the album for spotty production.


• The first single, Not Afraid, debuted at number one on the Billboard Hot 100.


• Love The Way You Lie stayed in the number one spot on the Billboard Hot 100 for seven straight weeks


• Despite officially releasing four singles, eight songs managed to make it on the Billboard Hot 100.


• When the album was being worked as Relapse 2, D12, Lloyd Banks and Cashis were set to feature. However, Lil Wayne is the only rapper to make an appearance on Recovery.


• The album was set to release in 2009, the second album to be released from Em that year. However, the album release date was pushed back to 2010 and a rerelease of Relapse with new music was shipped to hold fans over.

• Vince Offer, or the ShamWow guy was used in commercials for the album.


• Like MMLP2, Eminem did some cross promotion with Call Of Duty: Black Ops. His song, Wont Back Down even appears as an easter egg in game.

• The Space Bound music video caused controversy over the ending scene in which Eminem shoots himself in the head.

A Night At The Roxbury

• Eminem appeared on Lil Wayne’s album Rebirth (the song was Drop The World) and wanted Wayne to appear on his album. The song eventually began No Love but Eminem was reluctant at first when he first heard the beat by Just Blaze. The sample is Haddaway’s What Is Love and was prominently featured in A Night At The Roxbury.
