Tuesday night, April 8, Team Blake went into playoffs. During the playoffs each judge must pick 3 out of their 5 artists on their team to advance.
Audra Sets The Bar High
Audra McLauglin was the first artist to hit the stage. She did a great job singing “A Broken Wing.” All the judges were impressed with her performance. Audra set the bar high for the following artists.
Ryan’s Break Out Performance
Ryan Whyte Maloney chose “Second Chance” making Blake nervous because it is a hard song to sing. Ryan rocked out playing his guitar. Usher compared him the Adam Levine and said it was a breakout moment for him.
Madilyn Paige Continues To Struggle
Blake stole Madilyn from Team Usher the last performance of the second battle round. Singing “Clarity” Madilyn sang well, but showed no emotion. Usher thought she was going in the right direction with her new approach. Adam told her she “got to let go.” Both Shakira and Adam felt she was tense. Blake doesn’t think that was the best she could do.
Jake Worthington Shows More Confidence
Jake commanded the stage during his performance of “Anywhere With You.” He moved around the stage and engaged with the audience Shakira couldn’t get technical with him because he is a star. Jake felt he was shaky at times when Usher asked him how he thought he did. Adam was happy to see how far he has come. Blake thought it was solid.
Sisaundra Lewis Blows Away The Audience
Sisaundra’s version of Billy Joel’s “New York State Of Mind” was thrilling. Shakira said she has a special glam in her sound. Usher added that she is elegant. Adam said the beginning was very jazzy and then she dove into it. Both Usher and Adam wonder how Blake got her on his team.
Blake Chooses His Three
Sisaundra was the first artist to go to the live show because she can combine super talent with storytelling. Audra followed Sisaundra since she has blown Blake away from the start. Blake followed his heart and chose Jake to continue his journey on The Voice.
