Is it just me or are the cartoons nowadays just terrible? Okay, not all of them are awful, but I think we can all agree that we’d rather kick Caillou in the face than watch another episode. Oh…is that just me? It may be because I am a ‘90s kid, but I believe that the ‘90s had some of the best cartoons ever put to screen. Side note: Yes, I am aware that Caillou began in 1997. I’m coming to terms with the fact that the ‘90s weren’t perfect.

These are the top ten cartoons I used to watch as a youngster and still enjoy watching as an adult. There are several cartoons out there now that are painful to watch, as if Dora is literally trying to suck out your soul as she stares you down awaiting your answer to her question. (All jokes aside, Dora the Explorer is a great show for kids.)

The following cartoons are the ones that your kids should grow up on, because if I’m the example of what growing up on these cartoons does to a person, then your kids are going to be awesome.

1. Doug

Eleven-year-old Doug Funnie tries to fit in in his new town of Bluffington, where he befriends a boy named Skeeter, falls in love with a girl named Patti, and fends off Roger Klotz, the school bully. If your kids don’t love this show immediately, they will once Doug dresses up as “Quail Man.”

2. Rugrats

A show that follows the antics of babies, whose parents clearly have no worries about leaving them unsupervised. Your kids will revel at their freedom.

3. Hey Arnold!

What’s not to love about a kid whose head is shaped like a football? Nothing.

4. Aaahh! Real Monsters

Though, yes, this is a show about monsters, it is extremely creative and may just show your kids that, even if there are monsters under the bed, they’re most likely goofy. Or it will traumatize them. Your call.

5. Bobby’s World

This is Bobby’s world, and we’re just living in it. This show comes to life as we follow Bobby and his overactive imagination.

6.  Dexter’s Laboratory

Follow Dexter, a boy genius, as he deals with his annoying sister while trying to create in his secret lab.

7. Bonkers

A bobcat cop and his partner work together to solve crimes, but his antics usually get in the way.

8. Pepper Ann

Pepper Ann is just a girl dealing with middle school. The theme song will get stuck in your head. Trust me.

9. TaleSpin

If your kid loved The Jungle Book, then they are going to love TaleSpin. You can’t have too much of Baloo.

10. The Magic School Bus

Ms. Frizzle. Need I say more?
