She has the two most irritating songs on the radio right now but they’re catchy as all hell. Meghan Trainor, the voice behind All About That Bass and Lips Are Moving, is taking the world by storm in just a short amount of time. All About That Bass was nominated for a Grammy earlier this year, while it didn’t snatch up any awards – thank God, by the way – Trainor has taken it in stride. I really wouldn’t know but she is in rotation at least twice every hour. Let us dive in and learn ten things about twenty-one-year-old singer Meghan Trainor.
The second part of X Factor’s Season 2 premier blessed us with some interesting talent tonight. The first performer was Johnny Maxwell from Castro Valley, CA who delivered an original song called “All These People.” L.A. Reid was surprised the 16-year-old decided to do his own track, but the kid delivered. All of the judges gave him a thumbs up and agreed that Johnny had some serious star power.
Dancer turned Lexa Berman was the second performer tonight and the bombshell was called “Jersey Shore Meets the Kardashians” by Simon Cowell. Eventhough the young lady was very attractive, her performance turned flat and all the judges gave her thumbs down.
After Lexa’s performance the X Factor Judges breezed through close to a dozen acts and L. A. Reid stated “Man, We haven’t seen one damn talent.”
Tech Support Operator Jason Brock felt that he could definitely be a America’s next star, and I was interested in seeing what the young man had to offer. One of the contestants told Jason that he reminded her of Elton John. Jason sung “NY State of Mind” and I was impressed that he had so much so soul! Never judge a book by its cover.
When the “Britney Spear’s Stalker” Patrick Ford came on stage and gave Britney some flowers and it was extremely weird. The crowed booed and booed. After receiving four no’s the guy asked to bring Britney her flowers, but Simon Cowell intercepted them. Only one word can describe the whole situation: Creepy.
13 year old Carly Rose Soneclar, blessed us with “Feeling Good” by Nina Simone and she completely charmed the crowd and the X Factor judges. It was amzaing to see a young girl cover a song by one of the greatest female vocalist of all-time. A Star is born…
After hearing all of the other contestants stumble through their performance, Carly Rose Soneclar was well worth the wait!
