Music is a great way to get hyped up before an event, a night of clubbing or a little backyard sports. There are a lot of songs that can get you “Hyped up”, but some are more appropriate than others at certain times. You really don’t want to get hyped up listening to Saul Williams “List of Demands” before heading for a night at the club do you?
Well, we’re going to take a look at a song that a lot of people love, and a song that always gets me a little fired up. It’s called Evolve, but most of you will know it simply as “The Gatorade Song”. If you’ve seen the Gatorade commercial with the whistling, you’ve heard Evolve, but most people don’t know who sings it, produced it or even what it’s even called.
You may be surprised to learn that Kermit Quinn who used to sing with Blackstreet is the voice behind the commercial, and it’s produced by none other than David Banner. If you’ve seen the commercial you already know how moving it is, and if you haven’t and love sports you’ll want to check it out. Oddly enough, about every full video has been taken down, and all we could find was an abbreviated version of the original commercial. I believe there was a full 2 minute commercial; if anyone has links to that feel free to share. Either way, it’s by far the best sports/music combo I’ve seen in a commercial in quite some time, and it’ll be a tough one to beat.
