(Miami, FL—May 14, 2012) Thursday night at SESAC’s annual POP Awards, Grammy award winning producer/songwriter Rico Love won the most prestigious award of the night, “Songwriter of the Year” for the second consecutive year. Held at Skylight Soho, Rico Love was presented the award by mentor and friend Usher. A very exciting year, in 2011 Rico produced and wrote several chart topping songs for artists that includes Kelly Rowland, David Guetta, Melanie Fiona, Romeo Santos and Mary J. Blige. In addition, Rico also walked away with the awards for Kelly Rowland’s “Motivation,” David Gueatta’s “Without You” ft. Usher, Nelly’s “Just A Dream,” and Usher’s “There Goes My Baby.” Afterwards, Rico celebrated his win at a private dinner at the New York hotspot Catch in the meatpacking district and continued to Greenhouse, both hosted by Grey Goose Cherry Noir Vodka. Inattendance were Trey Songz, Kevin Lyles, Bryan Michael Cox, Sean Paul and D-Nice among others.

“This is truly a blessing to be honored. I work very hard to master my craft and to make sure the artists that I work with bring out the passion and magic that the fans love,” states Love, a NY native. “I appreciate all my supporters and I promise to keep on working hard to make great music. To have my brother Usher present me with this award meant so much to me. This is amazing.”

Fans can hear new music from Rico Love on R&B pop superstar Usher’s new album Looking 4 Myself which drops in June. Rico’s first collaboration with Usher was on his multi-platinum album Confessions. He also wrote and produced the Grammy award winning song “There Goes My Baby” on the highly successful Raymond vs. Raymond. For Usher’s latest effort, Rico worked very close with him on this project and will have 5 songs featured on the highly anticipated album.

“I always love working with Usher, he such a perfectionist like myself. We both work hard to be the best at what we do and working with him on this project brought so many new opportunities. We challenged him and experimented on some new sounds. It’s definitely all Usher…the fans will love it.”

Rico’s current creation “Heart Attack” by R&B heartthrob Trey Songz is steadily climbing up the charts. It’s currently #13 on Billboard’s R&B/Hip-Hop Charts and promises to be another smash. Rico Love is currently back in the studio working with 2Chainz, Rick Ross, Ludacris, Rihanna, Enrique Iglesias, T.I. and more.
