OutKast may be coming back for a reunion at Coachella 2014. The So Fresh and So Clean rappers haven’t done a collaborative effort since the release of Idlewild, both the movie and the album, in 2006. People were clamoring for the duo to get back together and give us, at least, one more album. That time may be coming very soon. Multiple sources have been claiming that OutKast will be performing at Coachella in April of 2014.
This isn’t going to be a one off performance either with sources claiming this will lead to a concert series with both Big Boi and Andre 3000. Rumors about the split have been present since Speakerboxx/The Love Below ten years ago. Everyone thought that since they released solo albums in a two CD collection that the split was eminent. However, that wasn’t true, at the time, and resulted in one of the most underrated (or overrated depending on who you are) rap albums of the new generation.
Could this mean that OutKast is planning an album? They did appear together on a couple of remixes this past year including Frank Ocean’s Pink Slime. Well, they appeared as individual artists and not as a group. If this Coachella event leads up to a new album I would be fine with that, if not, I would still be satisfied to see them performing together again.
