Pre-teens and teenage girls everywhere may be feeling the effects of the Jonas Brother break-up than the group themselves. That’s right, The Jonas Bros., the successful Disney band has decided to call it quits. After they released four albums and starred in two Disney films, Camp Rock and its sequel aptly titled Camp Rock 2, the brothers Jonas ultimately agreed to hang up their guitars in favor of new ventures.
Rumors were spreading that The Jonas Brothers were splitting up for a while but it wasn’t until the trio, made of Joe, Nick, and Kevin, stopped by Good Morning America to set the record straight. Nick, the youngest brother stated, “You know, we’re family first and that’s always been our main priority and so honesty within what we do as a group was really important.” He continues, “So I came to the table with the guys just before we were prepping to leave for tour and I shared my heart with them, my feelings.”
One rumor behind the break-up was speculated to be that Joe Jonas was addicted to heroin. Earlier in the month, the band cancelled their tour and TMZ caught video of Joe in LA being followed by an addiction specialist. “It’s obviously not true. I’ve never touched heroin in my life,” he says.
Their forthcoming fifth album, V, was set to come out this year but those plans were scrapped. Two singles were released from the album, Pom Poms and First Time, but the entire album will not see the light of day. They did confirm that four other unreleased songs would be released. As for what the band is going to do after the break-up: Nick says he wants to continue to write and record music for himself and other artists; Joe also wants to continue with his music career but also add acting on his résumé; Kevin is ready to become a father but he wants to open an entertainment company in the future.
