The Battle of All Seasons

Bake Shelton chose Sisandra Lewis and Biff Gore to go head to head. After a heated discussion the two picked “It’s A Man’s, Man’s, Man’s World.” James Martin, guest coach, told the contestants“ if James Brown saw it he would be proud” during their rehearsal. Usher got goose bumps during the battle. Both contestants left everything they had on the stage getting the judges on their feet. Sisandra’s note at the end brought the house down and Usher asked, “where did you find that!”Shakira thinks her register is sick. Blake explained The Biff is a performer, but picked Sisandra because he wants to work with a true female vocalist. “You’re changing the show, you’re good” is what Blake told Sisandra backstage.

“Say Something”

Deja Hall and Ddendyl brought a sweat and beautiful version of the hit song “Say Something.” During rehearsal young Deja couldn’t connect to the song because she has never been in love as Ddendyl had problems with her stage performance. The singers’ issues didn’t roll over into their battle performance. Both made Shakira proud and she thought they did an amazing job. Both artists have completely different styles making it hard for Shakira to choose. Deja won the battle because Shakira thought “she made the most progress.”

Team Usher Goes One Direction

Stevie Jo and Morgan Wallen sang “Story of My Life.” The song represents both of them vocally. Usher was wondered if they would fold under pressure, but neither did.  Morgan’s raspy voice reached a falsetto shocking the judges. Usher said Morgan is a good student because he went back and did the work to do better. Morgan recently started singing. Usher wen with Stevie Jo who is full of talent and held up to expectations.  Usher expressed Morgan “hasn’t unlocked his full potential.” A thankful Morgan went to shake the judges’ hands and Adam pushed his steal snatching him up to Team Adam as he said his goodbye. Morgan was in shock and excited to join Team Adam.
