I interviewed Daria a few months ago and right of the bat I was impressed about her positive energy, but for the first time I was able to see how she connects with her fans and genuinely cares.
It took about 35 minutes for me to actually join the live video chat because Google+ only allows for nine people at a time, but it was well worth the wait. While waiting, I participated in a chat session via Livestream with dozens of people around the world and it was cool to see how crazy people are about Daria’s music.
It’s crazy how much time Daria actually spends with her fans, and the record industry would be a much better place if there were more musicians who genuinely cared.
Here is a post from Daria’s Google+ page that really struck a nerve with me:
“IT TAKES 10,000 HOURS…”
Author Malcolm Gladwell’s book “Outliers” suggests that history shows it takes about 10,000 hours to achieve your dreams. After years of writing, playing in coffee shops and clubs, practicing in my PJs and singing my heart out… I think maybe my first 10,000 hours are clicking in. ?
