Disrespecting the RIAA can lead to stiff penalties and even a bid in prison these days. Ask Dallas record store owner, Victor Karl Shelby, who was sentenced to 3.5 years in prison for selling bootleg DVD’s at his Oak Cliff record store.

In July of 2012, Shelby surrendered over 2,400 DVD’s which he was selling at a measly $3 bucks a pop. Last week the Dallas man was sentenced to 42 months in federal prison.
