Cee Lo Green plead not guilty in court this past week. In case you haven’t heard, Cee Lo Green was accused of slipping Ecstasy into a woman’s drink; she passed out and doesn’t remember anything else except waking up in her bed, naked. While that happened last year, during the month of July, Green was never brought up on any charges of rape, or any other related sex crimes.
Green has been public about his accusation telling TMZ that he didn’t do anything. The LAPD claims that he’s been under investigation since the incident but was never indicted on any sex charge. He is, however, pleading not guilty on a drug charge of furnishing Ecstasy to a female victim. There wasn’t enough evidence against him on a rape charge, according to CNN. His bail was posted at $30,000. Green faces up to four years in prison if he is found guilty.
Cee Lo Green, whose real name is Thomas DeCarlo Callaway, rose to fame as a member of the hip-hop group Goodie Mob. With them, he released five albums since 1995 including Age Against The Machine, which released earlier this year. He is also on half of the group Gnarls Barkely with songwriter and producer Danger Mouse. Green also found fame as a solo artist most notably with F*** You (or the clean version Forget You). He’s also one-fourth of The Voice’s judging panel including Adam Levine and Christina Aguilera.
