Britney Spears wasn’t the first choice to appear on Miley Cyrus album Bangerz. The song in which she appears is entitled SMS(BANGERZ). As soon as it comes on you can hear that it channels Salt-n-Pepa’s Push It but it sucks way more. The first choices to provide vocals on the track were Gwen Stefani and Nicki Minaj.

Writer Sean Garret states that the initial choice to for SMS (BANGERZ) was Stefani because her musical flair. “…You know Gwen got that edge too…,” says Garret. Another name that popped up was Nicki Minaj; “…we were talking about putting Nicki on there, too. That would’ve been nuts…,” Sean tells MTV News.

Garret says the song is not just a celebration of women, but strong women. “That’s what this record is; it’s a celebration of pop culture, beautiful women, strong women. This is more than a collaboration with Britney and Miley; this is a f**king historical moment.” I’m not sure if I totally agree with him. Ok, I don’t agree with him. Do you?
