Dash, along with Jay-Z, went on to sell Roc-A-Fella Records to Def Jam in 2005.

Bryson Tiller is a young rising talent out of Louisville, KY. He first came on the scene with his mixtape in 2011 titled “Killer Instinct”. Since then, Tiller’s fan-base has been growing contagiously online. After the success of his first mixtape, he came back with the single “Don’t” that spread like wildfire with the help of vine and twitter.

There are a lot of r&b singers giving the rap-sing style of music these days and it seems to be working pretty well. Drake is a primary example of the rap-sing approach that the new generation of r&b singers seem to be carrying after. You don’t hear too many (if any at all) r&b singers sounding like Luther Vandross or Marvin Gaye these days, and Bryson Tiller is no exception. I hate to compare him to Drake, but that’s exactly the vibe he is giving us in this song, but I love it!

The song speaks about a girl whose man is not treating her right and Tiller expresses how he is better for her. The video is very dark and steamy, featuring red and blue light along with smoke in the air. There is a very sensual scene with him and a young lady, which carries on and progresses throughout the video. Bryson Tiller is showing us that he has talent and creativity and he plans to stay here for a while. People are expecting good things for him in 2015 and I can definitely see him as an artist to watch for next year. Follow him on Twitter and check out the video to his song “Don’t”.

YMCMB has always topped the charts with hits from Drake, Nicki Minaj, and Lil Wayne since the group first came together and haven’t slowed down a bit. They never seem to disappoint, and this time around is no different. With Chris Brown singing the hook, their single “Only” seems like it will be yet another hit for the Young Money crew.

D’angelo Returns from near 15-year Hiatus with new Album “Black Messiah”

    December 20th, 2014

As we all should know, D’angelo has been a soulful heartbeat in music since his debut release of ‘Brown Sugar’ in 1995. After his studio album ‘Voodo’ released in 2000, D’angelo took almost a 15-year break from recording. Although he hadn’t recorded or released any music, he still toured around the U.S. and overseas over the years. I have no idea how we’ve made it this long without hearing his voice on a new record.

Omarion, former lead singer of r&b boy band B2K, just released his 4th solo studio album “Sex Playlist” last night Tuesday, December 2nd. Omarion (also known as Maybach O) signed to Rick Ross’ label Maybach Music Group (MMG) back in 2012. MMG has a roster of backpack and street rappers such as Meek Mill, Wale, Gunplay and Stalley, so for Omarion to soften up the bunch and bring a sexy r&b sound to the label, levels out the dynamics of the group pretty well.

“The Mission” video by Tory Lanez

Tory Lanez is an emerging hip-hop artist out of Toronto, Canada. With striking similarities to his Canadian brethren at OVO (Drake and PartyNextDoor), the 22-year old is definitely a promising artist to watch for. Not only can he spit hard bars on the mic, he can also hold a note when crooning the ladies, too. He has a smooth r&b driven sound but levels it out with his hardcore rapping style.
