In my opinion Hip-Hop was at an all-time high in 1996. The climate back then was extremely different. You had to have more that just a beat and swag. You had to really have skills to be an mc, and there was a lot more creativity than what we have grown accustomed to. Even though I love the Rakim era and the YMCB era, 1996 will always be the greatest year ever in Hip-Hop.
